Have been using this every single day since about 4 years. Extremely energey efficient way of cooking. No issues with product. This is one of the more advanced models in the hawkins line, an extremely trusted and reputable indian brand.

Having owned one of these pressure cookers I can say from first hand experience they are top of the line. My family has used the same pressure cooker now on almost a daily basis for 5+ years. Yes that is an almost daily basis (usually it gets used 5-6 times or more a week). The cooker is still in GREAT shape. We have replaced the gasket once and that is it. The cooker is extremely well crafted with thick aluminum that reminds me of high end cookware like Calphalon, Analon etc. Honestly, you can't get much better than this. PERIOD! It heats well, cleans EASILY and exudes quality.

I have owned two Futuras for many years- so long ago I cannot remember the purchase date. Used frequently and still have needed not needed replacement parts. So glad they are still in production.

I am a self avowed pressure cooker junky. I have about 7 various brands and sizes and I have to say that with this combo of 4 and 8 qt models I'll probably never use any of my other ones again. They are built so well... They reminded me of Iron Clad. Plus they are so much quieter than my older style ones. I wish I had spent the money sooner. And, they are full 15 pounders, not the usual 12 lb ones I've had in the past... Big difference. All I can say is spend the bucks and get the last ones you'll ever want to own.

I've had my 8 qt and 4 qt set for two years, replacing an old Presto aluminum cooker and use it all the time. The 4 qt pot is great for making rice, risotto and other grain recipes. I use the steamer insert in the 8 qt to make (I kid you not) meatloaf and mashed potatoes in 15 minutes. If you are new to pressure cooking you can't go wrong with this set and Lorna Sass' book Pressure Perfect: Two Hour Taste in Twenty Minutes Using Your Pressure Cooker (source of the meatloaf recipes).
If you are used to the jiggle-top pressure cookers, you will notice that there's a valve at the top of this one with some steam coming out and a button that raises to let you know it is on high pressure. I immediately fell in love with this set as soon as I opened the box. It is shining stainless steel, very thick and solid. I have used pressure cooker for 15 years. While my old aluminum one is wearing out and I broke another stainless steel one's handle, I have been looking for a new pressure cooker for 2 years. I have searched many local stores. Most are aluminum, some are hard anodized. They tend to wear out quickly. I was set to get a stainless steel one. Finally I bought this stainless steel set from [...]. Most pressure cookers are deep, good for stew and for cooking meat. This set comes with a 4-quart shallow pot which I could easily think of many things I could do with, like rice, stir fry, pancake,....... And it is easy to clean!
Today I cooked rice, it took only 8 minutes, Rice tastes much better than those made without using pressure cooker.

I love this thing! I absolutely love it. It's heavy-duty yet lightweight, beautifully polished, has ample capacity, and with all the safety features very welcome in my kitchen. I do have one beef with it, but I consider it minor. I'll cover that problem at the bottom.
Because of the straight sides and slightly rounded bottom I get ample heat absorption through the vessel. It heats completely with two pounds of food in it in less than ten minutes and continues to cook at a very low (I use gas) simmer setting after that. With the additional safety releases I really don't worry about using it either. And it cleans up beautifully.
The weighted pressure relief valve tells me exactly when to turn the heat down and reminds me that it's cooking. It's such a simple and straightforward design that I really can't say much more about it. To date the two "stews" I've cooked in it were tender, delectable, and addicting.
